Food and wine

Dear Guests

We are getting ready and excited for the winter season, we have recruited our staff and we are now busy working with our chefs to complete their menu’s for the season and they are sounding and looking amazing , we have also selected the wines for this season to compliment there already delicious food.

Here is a list of our wine we have selected, we had a lovely afternoon sitting in the sunshine with our local supplier Verre Gourmand , who helped us with our selection and we are very excited to announce our wines.

White and Sea Colombard Sauvignon – Dry, fresh white packed with citrus and some tropical aromas. Lemon, green apple and a hint of passion fruit on the palate. Balanced by refreshing acidity and a lovely zesty finish.

Chemin des Pins Marsanne-Viognier – Viognier is one of those grapes that really does taste like the fruit descriptors we see on restaurant menus. It has really clear aromas and flavours of peach and apricot, often with hints of spice alongside. Marsanne also tends to show fruity flavours, though closer to pears and apples. The combination works well. It’s perfectly at home whether drunk as an apero (to enjoy all that fruitiness), or alongside meat and fish dishes especially with a bit of spice.

Roches Bleues blanc 2017 (Cuv̩e Ella) РLight zesty notes on the nose with green apples and stone fruit on the tongue, softening with fig fruit on the finish. This fresh and crisp wine makes for an easy pairing with salads, light starters, chicken, fish, and even with cheese such as Comt̩ and Beaufort.

Le Bosq –  A lovely pale yellow colour, with citrus and passion fruit notes. Fresh, fruity and well-balanced on the palate. Excellent as an aperitif or with fish, seafood or chicken.

Le Canal blanc – Look for creamy, buttery notes from the Chardonnay grape, along with flavours of pears and eve grapefruit from the Vermentino. It is fresh and quaffable enough to make a great aperitif, yet it has enough body, rich-ness and poise to work well with quite a wide range of different dishes but goes very well with white sauces, fish and poultry.

Le Canal rouge – Flavours of red and dark fruit, spice and black pepper. It really does feel like you are gulping down a mouthful of southern sunshine. Great with anything from the grill- lamb and other , and other red meats, a Round and fresh on the palate, packed with fruit, fruit and more fruit.

Chemin des Pins Malbec – The Malbec grape (when made in a more modern style such as this) produces wines with ripe brambly flavours. But there’s a bright freshness in this wine, too, along with an enveloping smoothness. Beef, duck breast, hearty soups, charcuterie or just enjoy with some peanuts before you sit down for dinner. Brilliant crowd-pleasing Malbec from the South of France, a soft and beautifully balanced, with fresh bramble fruit on the palate truly a great all-rounder.

Rare Vineyards Carignan – A delightfully aromatic red, followed through by a pretty palate of dark baked fruit. This wine is very versatile and can be drunk with a range of foods from fish and seafood, pastas, meats and cheeses. This has deep, rich, fruit flavours and a long finish.

Monastier Shiraz – This is modern, fruity and full-bodied in style it has a nose brimming with ripe plum and damson fruits that leads to a vibrant, rich palate. This wine is delicious with magret de canard, any kind of red meat dish, or with cheese.

Esprit des Roches – A lovely garnet colour, look for plummy, juicy, fruity notes on the nose; while on the palate, let the softness of the wine caress your taste buds! Beef, duck breast, hearty soups, charcuterie or just enjoy with some peanuts before you sit down for dinner. A dark ruby red, lovely cassis and raspberry flavours. Slightly spicy with oaky notes. A lot of fruits. Smoky and peppery notes in the finish.

Ice and Fire are also please to announce to all you rose lovers , we have added a rose to our wine list, this is available on request of our guests who enjoy a glass of rose instead of a red or white.

Le Canal Rose – Really dry and fresh but with crisp, subtle flavours of red fruits. Perfect as an aperitif or would go well with various fish dishes and even lighter curries. The producers recommend cold meats, summer salads and white meats.

We hope you enjoy them all

Best Wishes
