Skiing With Children In La Plagne
Taking children skiing for the first time isn't easy, but get it right and you'll hopefully have a brood of enthusiastic ski buddies to share your passion with . . . at least until they can out-ski you that is!
Skiing With Younger Children
If you are travelling with young children Ice and Fire can provide a cot, high-chair and changing mat for you to borrow for the week to help you cut down on the packing. We provide cot sheets and towels but recommend you bring your own baby sleeping bag. We have children's crockery and cutlery in the chalet. There is a microwave in the kitchen which you can use for heating bottles - please bring your own steriliser if you use one.
If you are travelling with very young children, please let us know at the time of booking to ensure that we can reserve the most suitable rooms and advise on any other requirements.
Skiing With Older Children
For older children we have seperate games areas in all of our chalets which contain a selection of books and games.
In the evening, we offer an earlier kid's tea free of charge on request. If your child has an allergy, dislikes certain foods or has particular favourites please let us know and we will do our best to build a menu around this.
Les Coches is great for families. It has an ice rink, sledging area, regular children's entertainment and two excellent nursery slopes for learning to ski, and excellent ski school options. There is a lovely swimming pool in nearby Montchavin, and several child friendly restaurants for eating out.
Snowlittle Alpine Childcare
For childcare we recommend a company called Snowlittle who provide flexible chalet-based childcare. You can choose to book hourly, daily or weekly, either for full or half days. They can also offer evening babysitting on request.
Activities include picnics, snowman-building, sledging, trips to the park, treasure hunts, painting and drawing, hide and seek, making play dough, camps and dens and adventure walks in the snow.
Every child has different needs and requirements so we recommend that you contact Snowlittle direct to organise your nanny. You can do this via their website.
