Frequently Asked Questions

Here at Ice and Fire we do as much as possible to try and make you holiday as smooth and easy as possible. Here we have put together a list of the most common questions and answers, but if you are still unsure of anything then please don't hesitate to get in contact. We will do all that we can to make your holiday one to remember.

Do you provide flights and transport to resort?

Flights and transfers aren't included in your holiday to give you the flexibility to book the travel options which suit you best. On the pages on this site you will find flight and transfer information to help you reserve this but please get in touch if you have any questions.

Do you cater for vegetarians, food allergies and other specialist food requirements?

We happily cater for vegetarians, vegans and most food allergies and specialist requirements. Before you arrive in resort we send out a pre holiday form to the party leader where you can list any dietary needs.

Are lift passes, ski hire and ski school included?

Lift passes, ski hire and ski school are not included in the price of your holiday but we have a full booking service so that they can be pre-ordered on your behalf before you arrive.

Will there be snow?

With 2 glaciers and over 70% of the skiing above 2000m, Paradiski is a snowsure ski area, so yes there will be snow to ski on.

Where can I eat on the chalet night off?

There are many fine restaraunts serving excellent food. If you ask your host, they will be happy to suggest and book one for you. If you are travelling on a peak week, or as part of a large group, and would like a booking made before you arrive in resort, please just give us a call.

Do you offer any financial protection?

Yes, we offer Topps protection. Full information is available here.

How can I pay my deposit and final balance?

We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque and debit card for your holiday. We can also accept credit card payments and there is an additional 2% charge for this option.

When must I pay the balance of my holiday?

The balance is due 10 weeks before your arrival date. We will send you a reminder and information about how to pay.

Is the complimentary bar unlimited?

We offer beer, wine and soft drinks in the complimentary bar which you can help yourselves to during the holiday. We don't limit this on a per person basis and within reason you can help yourselves as and when you want. However the complimentary bar may be restricted at our discretion in certain cases eg excessive drunkenness, damage to chalet or property, underage drinking etc.

Can you send me a brochure?

Ice and Fire use this website for sales and as part of our responsible tourism policy do not have a printed brochure. We are happy to answer any questions via email or phone

Is the chalet and ski area suitable for beginners or children?

As a family friendly company we have chosen all of our resorts/chalets with this in mind. Ski schools, beginner areas and nanny service availability are just part of our criteria for choosing chalets. We also look at the distance to slopes and general suitability of ski area to make sure that all levels of skier are catered for. 

Are you eco-friendly?

At Ice and Fire we believe in that everyone should do their bit to help protect the wonderful natural resources of the area which we are lucky enough to live in. We work hard to cut down on wastage, recycle our rubbish, reduce our energy consupmtion and support local environmental initiatives. Do I need a visa?
If you are an EU passport holder then you will not need a visa to enter France. If you are a non-EU national then you should check with the French embassy prior to booking. More information about visas for France is available here.

Are there any minimum health requirements?

Skiing is an inherently active sport, requiring a basic level of fitness to take part. If you have any concerns about your ability to do this we recommend that you contact your doctor for professional advice prior to booking.

As a company we do not make any minimum health requirements for people staying in our chalets however if you have mobility problems or are unsure whether our accommodation would be suitable, we recommend that you contact us for advice prior to booking.

Who can I contact whilst I am in resort?

If you have a query, question or problem during your holiday you should contact your chalet hosts in the first instance.
