We began by choosing the area we wanted to be in. We love La Plagne and it’s where our other two chalets are situated so La Plagne was the obvious choice. But, La Plagne is made up of a number of villages – so how to choose the village? Eventually it came down to personal preference. Plagne 1800 is where I did my very first season so it is somewhere I have a lot of affection for, and is my personal favourite of the areas.

Then we had to pick the chalet – and we had a long list of criteria! We wanted a real chalet, not an apartment but located close to the piste with easy access for beginners and experts alike. It had to have a sauna, log fire, wifi, good views and a homely, friendly atmosphere. But, on top of that it also had to be suitable for our chalet chefs and hosts to work in with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of storage space.

So, armed with our long wish list we set out chalet hunting. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Genepi which not only ticks all the boxes, but adds things to the list which we hadn’t planned for. We love this exciting new addition to our portfolio – but see what you think?
